Session Information

Therapy sessions last for approximately 50 minutes and are usually held weekly.  As needed, more or less frequent appointments can easily be arranged.

The duration of counselling may range from a single session to a few weeks, to a year or more, depending upon your needs and wishes and the nature of the issues that you bring to therapy.

During the first session a therapy agreement outlining the counselling process is discussed, questions are welcomed, and an assessment is begun.  You will be encouraged and supported in setting goals early in the therapy process.

Please contact me about session fees.  A sliding fee scale is available to make psychotherapy accessible for those with no insurance coverage or financial limitations.

The full session fee is charged in the case of missed appointments or cancellation with less than 24 hours’ notice, however there is flexibility for emergency cancellations.

Payment is made at each session by e-transfer.  An official receipt, with the information needed for claiming fees back from your insurance provider, will then be sent to you.

Insurance coverage for psychotherapy services is often provided under employee health benefit packages in Canada.  You are advised to inquire with your provider ahead of time to confirm your coverage parameters for therapy with a Registered Psychotherapist (R.P.).
